A car crash left a passenger severely injured when the van the passenger was riding in collided with a pickup truck. The driver of the car fled on foot. The crash happened Saturday night at an intersection in the Burbank area, according to authorities.
The crash happened about 7:10 p.m. at Sherman Way and Vineland Avenue near Bob Hope Airport, according to Sgt. Robert White of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver of the van, who has been described by witnesses as a Hispanic man in his 40s, exited the van and fled northbound on Sherman Way, said White. Witnesses describe the man as last wearing a navy-blue shirt and black pants.
The injured driver was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition. His identity has not been immediately released.
The driver of the truck received treatment at the scene by paramedics, declining to be taken to a hospital, said the police. The truck driver left the crash scene with family members. The identity of the driver was not released by police officials.
The crash remains under investigation. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
