Minivan Plows into Crowd in Downtown L.A.’s Fashion District
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 6, 2025) – At least nine people were injured Sunday afternoon when a gray minivan drove into a crowd on 12th Street near Santee Alley in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles’ Fashion District, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The mass casualty incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. on April 6, near 326 East 12th Street. Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, where they located nine individuals with injuries described as “fair condition.”
Three Boys Aged 8, 11, and 17 Were Injured And Transported To A Nearby Hospital
Among the injured were three boys, aged 8, 11, and 17, who were transported to a hospital for treatment. Four adult women, ages 23, 30, 54, and 65, were also hospitalized. Two other 23-year-old women declined further care and were released against medical advice, officials said.
The gray minivan involved in the incident suffered front-end damage and came to a stop beneath a collapsed patio structure, authorities reported.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, while the city’s Department of Transportation managed traffic control in the affected area. No arrests or citations had been reported as of Sunday evening.
