Two-vehicle Crash on the 10 Freeway Kills Woman in Downtown Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 4, 2021) – Early in the morning on Sunday near downtown Los Angeles, a two-vehicle crash killed a woman. The October 3 crash occurred on the 10 Freeway near Santa Fe Avenue.
The time was a little after 5:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
A vehicle–described as a BMW 328i–had been traveling on the eastbound side of the freeway, and struck a vehicle that had crashed earlier and been abandoned in the traffic lane.
Responders arrived and transported the driver of the BMW and the passenger to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center.
The passenger died from her injuries. She was identified only as a resident of Baldwin Park, 37 years old. Her name has not been reported.
The BMW’s driver suffered injuries that were described as moderate. His current condition is not known.
He was identified as a resident of El Monte, 51 years old. His name has also not been reported.
Investigators are continuing to gather details and information regarding the crash. They are searching for the driver of the disabled vehicle that was abandoned on the freeway.
