Wrong-Way DUI Crash Outside Fresno Near South Ave Leads To 1 Arrest
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (November 21, 2024) — A wrong-way driver was arrested following a DUI crash on Highway 41 near South Avenue on Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. when 50-year-old Danny Estrada allegedly drove his vehicle in the wrong direction on the highway. CHP officers observed the dangerous situation and attempted to warn other motorists while trying to stop Estrada. Despite their efforts, Estrada collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Danny Estrada Was Booked Into Fresno County Jail On Suspicion of DUI
Both Estrada and the driver of the other car sustained injuries in the crash. Estrada was later booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
