Crash on State Route 94 in La Mesa Sends Car to Land Against Tree

LA MESA, CA (November 19, 2021) – Early in the morning on Friday in La Mesa, a car crash sent one of the vehicles off the roadway where it landed vertically against a tree. The November 19 crash occurred on State Route 94.
The time was roughly 1:40 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Authorities said two vehicles collided on State Route 94 on the westbound side of the roadway, close to College Avenue. One of the vehicles was alleged to have been going at a fast speed when it hit the other vehicle. Neither vehicle has been described.
The impact of the crash sent one of the vehicles to overturn multiple times. It went off the roadway and landed vertically, leaning on a tree on Waite Drive at an apartment complex.
Responders arrived and found three occupants were trapped in the vertical car. Responders worked to free them from the wreckage.
It is not known from reports if the three people were hurt in the crash, and if they were transported to the hospital.
They were identified only as women. Their names, age, and cities of residence have not been reported.
According to witnesses, reports say, the vehicle that caused the crash ended up in a bush, and two occupants of the vehicle exited. They fled the crash site on foot, going across the lanes of the freeway.
The two people who fled have not been described or identified.
Reports say no residents at the apartment complex were hurt in the crash.
Investigators are searching for the two people who fled the scene of the crash. They are continuing to collect details and information.
