Diamond Bar Crash on 60 Freeway Kills One, Injures Three
DIAMOND BAR, CA (August 2, 2021) – Early in the morning on Saturday in Diamond Bar, a series of crashes on the 60 Freeway killed a man. The July 31 crash occurred on the eastbound side of the freeway.
The time was roughly 3:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
A vehicle–described as a Honda Accord–crashed and overturned, for reasons that are not known. The occupants of the Honda were described as three men.
Not long after the Honda crashed, a vehicle–described as a Nissan Armada–that was traveling in the HOV lane, smashed into the Honda.
One person who was trapped in the Honda from the first crash died. He was identified only as a resident of Compton, 20 years old. His name has not been reported.
Two other people who had been traveling in the Honda were injured. They were identified as Anthony Rodriguez, 21 years old. He had been driving the Honda.
Another passenger in the Honda was identified as Juan Cortez, 20 years old. He suffered injuries that were described as moderate to serious.
The person who had been driving the Nissan suffered injuries that were described as moderate. He was identified as Christian Lucero, 44 years old.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash details.
