Police Reserve Officer, Killed in 91 Freeway Crash in Corona
CORONA, CA (September 30, 2019) – Arthur Brice, known as Art, was killed early in the morning on Saturday in a collision on the 91 Freeway in Corona. The September 28 incident occurred on the freeway’s eastbound side, close to Promenade Avenue, according to the Buena Park Police Department.
The time was roughly a little after 5:00 a.m.
Reports say Brice, who was a reserve officer with the Buena Park Police Department, had been on his way home after finishing a work shift. For reasons that are not known, his car collided with a big rig that was disabled, and then with a big rig that was moving.
Responders arrived and worked to extricate Brice from the wreckage. They transported him to a hospital. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital.
Brice was 58 years old and a residence of Moreno Valley. He had been a member of the police department for eleven years. According to the police department, Brice had worked with the gang unit of the department, and also the color guard.
Investigators are working to understand what circumstances led to the crash.
