One Person Killed, One Injured in Collision Involving Two Small Planes in Compton
COMPTON, CA (March 14, 2019) – One person died and one person was injured in a collision involving two small planes in Compton on Tuesday night. The March 12 accident occurred at the Compton/Woodley Airport.
The time was roughly 7:00 p.m.
Reports describe the two planes involved as a single-engine Cessna 152 and a single-engine North American T-28. The two planes collided on a runway at the airport.
According to reports, witnesses said that the T-28 came up on the Cessna from behind. It then landed on the Cessna and dragged it. Ian Gregor, who is a spokesperson with the Federal Aviation Administration, said the Cessna caught on fire.
