CHULA VISTA, CA (February 2, 2021) – Early in the evening on Saturday in Chula Vista, a pedestrian was struck and fatally injured. The January 30 incident occurred on E Street in the 600 block.
The time was a little after 7:00 p.m., Chula Vista Police said.
A man had been walking across the road, not within a crosswalk, reports say. A vehicle–described as a Toyota Tundra–which had been heading eastbound, struck him.
Responders transported the man to a hospital. He died in the hospital.
The man’s identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation. The identity of the driver has not been reported.
Investigators are working to collect information regarding the crash to understand the factors and circumstances.
