Laguna Niguel DUI Crash Injures OC Fire Cadet Who Previously Overcame Cancer
LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA (October 8, 2024) – Christian Bedolla, a 21-year-old first responder and Orange County Fire Authority cadet, remains hospitalized following a two-car crash caused by a suspected DUI driver at the intersection of Cabot Road and Crown Valley Parkway on Tuesday.
According to reports, a 20-year-old driver, impaired and running a red light, collided with Bedolla’s vehicle. Bedolla, who had previously overcome a rare form of lymphoma, suffered significant injuries in the crash.
Christian Bedolla Was Rushed To The Hospital After Receiving Medical Assistance
Paramedics arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance before rushing Bedolla to a hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. His family has since launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his mounting medical expenses and support his recovery.
The driver responsible for the crash remains in custody, with bail set at $75,000.
Authorities remind the public of the dangers of driving under the influence, emphasizing that alcohol impairs motor skills and judgment. Drivers are urged to seek alternative transportation if impaired to avoid tragic accidents, injuries, or fatalities.
