Car Strikes Pedestrian on 405 Fwy Near Carson Street
CARSON, CA (August 18, 2024) — A pedestrian was killed late Sunday night after being struck by a car on the 405 Freeway near Carson Street, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred around 10:52 p.m. when, for reasons still unknown, a male pedestrian ran into the path of an oncoming vehicle on the northbound lanes of the San Diego Freeway. The vehicle collided with the man, resulting in fatal injuries.
Emergency Responders Arrived To Find The Pedestrian Had Succumbed To Their Injuries
Emergency responders arrived at the scene minutes later, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name or age.
The CHP is seeking any additional information from the public that might shed light on the circumstances leading to the man running into traffic.
Officials urge anyone with information related to this tragic incident to contact the CHP.
