A woman was killed yesterday in a car crash. Three other people were injured.
The car crash happened near Central Ave. and East 124th St. The accident happened around 1:05 a.m., according to a report from the California Highway Patrol.
The woman who was killed, 23-year-old Barbara Caldwell of Los Angeles, died at the scene.
The 2002 Chrysler was southbound on Central Ave. when it went out of control and crashed into a tree, according to California Highway Patrol officials. The reason for the car going out of control is still unknown.
The car was driven by a 22-year-old woman from Compton. She was suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Two other women, aged 23 and 25, suffered major injuries. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Their current conditions are unknown.
The names of the other woman involved haven’t been released. The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been filed. Anyone with information is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol.
