A California high school teacher and coach has died after a freak bicycle accident. Apparently, he was impaled by a parking lot gate while riding his bicycle. Marion Adams was on his way home from practice for the track and field team which he coaches, and it was nighttime when the accident occurred.

The multimedia teacher worked at Rio Linda High School and was attempting to say goodbye to a student when the crash happened. He smacked into the metal gate and was immediately impaled. His face was turned around as he was trying to greet the student.  He was taken to the hospital and died after doctors performed two surgeries to save him from his internal injuries. Alas, the wounds were too expansive, and although Adams survived the surgeries, he died shortly after.

Other teachers and coaches at the school praised Adams for being a popular and nice addition to the educators at the school. They lamented the huge loss to their community. Hundreds will be attending a vigil that will be held for Adams tonight.
