Vehicle Hits and Critically Injures 13-year-old Boy in Buena Park

BUENA PARK, CA (December 20, 2018) – A 13-year-old boy who was walking in Buena Park late in the afternoon on Tuesday was hit by a vehicle and critically injured. The December 18 accident occurred on Western Avenue, between Crescent Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, Bret Carter said. Carter is a spokesperson for the Buena Park Police Department.

The time was roughly 5:45 p.m.

Respondents arrived on scene and transported the injured boy to Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Tony Bommarito said. Bommarito is a captain with the Orange County Fire Authority. The boy suffered traumatic injuries, reports say, and his condition is critical.

The person who was driving the vehicle that hit the boy stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation. Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the accident.

The identity of the boy, his name, and city of residence have not yet been reported. The identity of the driver, the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence have not yet been reported. It is not known from reports what caused the accident, and what type of vehicle was involved. The types of injuries the victim suffered have also not yet been reported.

Investigators are looking into the information and details to find out why the accident happened.
