Multi-vehicle Crash on I-5 in Buena Park Kills One, Injures Another

BUENA PARK, CA (November 30, 2020) – Early in the morning on Monday in Buena Park, a crash involving three vehicles on I-5 killed a person. The November 30 incident occurred on the freeway’s southbound side, near the 91 Freeway and to the north of it.

The time was roughly 12:51 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Three vehicles–described as a Toyota Prius, a Bentley, and a sedan–collided. No details have been reported on how the crash occurred, or the sequence that may have taken place.

Responders arrived and found one vehicle had traveled off the road and onto the right-hand shoulder. Inside another vehicle, a person was trapped in the wreckage.

A person who had been traveling in the Prius was reported to have died in the crash. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Reports say responders transported a patient who had been inside the compact sedan to the hospital. The types of injuries she suffered, and her current condition, are not known. Her identity has not been reported.

It is not known from reports who had been traveling in the Bentley, nor the if the person or people inside were injured.

None of the drivers involved in the crash have been identified. Investigators are working to understand the crash, and how it happened.
