Driver Suspected of Running Red Light in Buena Park Crash; One Killed
BUENA PARK, CA (April 15, 2020) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in Buena Park, a crash involving a driver who is suspected of running through a red light killed a person. The April 14 incident occurred where Stanton Avenue and La Palma Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly 5:58 a.m., according to Buena Park Police.
Reports say three vehicles collided in the intersection. A person who had been driving a Honda died at the incident site, Mario Escamilla said. Escamilla is a sergeant with Buena Park Police.
The deceased person was identified only as a man. His name, age, and city of residence have not been reported.
Another person involved in the crash suffered injuries that were described as minor. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence has not been reported. The vehicle the person had been traveling in has not been described.
According to reports, investigators think one of the drivers went through the intersection on a light that was red. Investigators are working to determine which driver that may have been.
The other two vehicles involved in the crash have not been described. It is not known from reports who the driver of each vehicle had been.
