BUELLTON, CA (January 15, 2021) – A crash near Buellton on Highway 246 on Wednesday night killed a passenger. The January 14 incident occurred on the eastbound side of the roadway, near Domingos Road and to the west of it.
The time was roughly 7:20 p.m., California Highway Patrol said.
A vehicle–which has not been described–crashed for reasons that are not known. The vehicle overturned, and a passenger was thrown outside.
The victim died at the crash site. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The driver has not been identified. It is not known if the person who was driving the vehicle was hurt.
Reports do not say if there were any other occupants of the vehicle when the crash occurred.
Investigators are in the process of collecting information to understand why the crash happened.
