Vista Boy, Crossing Street, is Struck and Injured on N. Santa Fe Ave.
VISTA, CA (September 7, 2022) – Late in the afternoon on Friday in Vista, a boy was struck and injured as he tried to walk across the street. The September 2 crash occurred where Vista Village Drive and N. Santa Fe Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly a little before 6:00 p.m., Eric Cottrell said. Cottrell is a sergeant with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities allege the boy–11 years old–was trying to walk across the street against traffic.
A vehicle–which has not been described–struck him.
Responders transported the boy by airlift to Rady Children’s Hospital. He suffered injuries that were described as serious.
The boy’s identity has not been reported.
The person who was driving the vehicle remained at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation. The driver’s identity has also not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand the crash, and they are in the process of collecting information and details.
