Driver Fleeing Police Strikes Pedestrians, Cars in Beverly Hills

BEVERLY HILLS, CA (April 8, 2021) – On Wednesday night in Beverly Hills, a driver who was fleeing from police crashed, and remained in a stand-off situation for over three hours. The April 7 crash occurred where North Doheny Drive and Wilshire Boulevard intersect.

The driver–who was in a Toyota that was suspected stolen–was pursued by police, with the pursuit occurring in Santa Clarita. The suspect–later identified as Daniel Allen, 29 years old and a resident of Santa Clarita–is alleged to have struck three pedestrians and two vehicles. The victims have not been identified, nor the vehicles described.

According to Max Subin, who is a lieutenant with Beverly Hills Police, responders transported two occupants to a hospital in the area. They have not been identified. According to Subin, the suspect driver exited the vehicle, and re-entered it.

For other three hours, reports say, Allen would not leave the vehicle. Authorities employed measures to get Allen to exit the vehicle he barricaded from within, reports say.

Authorities arrested Allen, who faces charges of resisting arrest and felony evading. Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
