Multi-vehicle Crash in Bellflower Injures Two Pedestrians and Deputy
BELLFLOWER, CA (July 25, 2019) – A collision involving multiple vehicles at night on Tuesday in Bellflower injured two pedestrians and a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy. The July 23 incident occurred close to where Ramona Street and Downey Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly a little after 9:00 p.m., according to Deputy Figueroa. Figueroa is with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Reports say a deputy was en route in response to a call for assistance for another deputy. As the deputy was traveling, a vehicle pulled out in the path of the patrol vehicle. The patrol vehicle, and the other vehicle, collided near the Downey and Ramona intersection.
After the initial impact, the patrol vehicle came to a stop on the sidewalk after striking a vehicle parked on the street.
Responders arrived and took the deputy, and two people who had been walking, to a hospital in the area. According to Figueroa, the deputy—who has not been identified—suffered injuries that were described as minor.
The two injured pedestrians have not been identified, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence. Reports say their injuries may have been minor.
