Bakersfield, CA – A vehicle collision between a big rig and a bus leaves nine people injured Tuesday morning on a California Interstate.

Reaching down for a package of beef jerky, the 29-year old Florida born truck driver swerved his big rig into the back of a bus on Interstate 5 near Lost Hills, north of Bakersfield. The vehicles were traveling northbound and had just passed Twissleman Road. The bus, transporting ten people was pushed into the concrete center divider where it flipped on its side.
California Highway Patrol responded to the accident site around 6:00 a.m. to handle the accident. Paramedics arriving soon after treated the victims of the crash. Nine out of the ten people in the bus suffered minor to moderate injuries. They were visiting from Texas, Arizona, and other areas of California. The driver of the big rig was uninjured.
