Greyhound Bus Crash on I-10 Injures 13 People in Banning, CA
BANNING, CA (June 6, 2022) – On Friday in Banning, a crash involving a Greyhound bus and an SUV injured thirteen people. The June 3 crash occurred on I-10 on the eastbound side of the roadway, according to Jason Montez. Montez is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say the Greyhound bus had been traveling toward Phoenix from Los Angeles when the tire on the left front blew. The incident sent the bus to swerve, and it collided with an SUV and the wall that is the roadway’s center divider.
Responders arrived and found the bus had been carrying 33 people.
Responders transported 13 patients to hospitals. Eleven of the patients had been aboard the bus, and two of the patients had been traveling in the SUV.
According to Montez, one person suffered injuries that were described as major. The identity of the person has not been reported.
The other patients suffered injuries that were described as minor.
None of the people involved in the crash have been identified in reports.
Investigators are continuing their work to gather information and details.
