Three-vehicle Collision on 605 Freeway in Baldwin Park Leads to Closure
BALDWIN PARK, CA (February 6, 2019) – Three vehicles collided in Baldwin Park on the 605 Freeway early in the morning on Wednesday, causing a traffic snarl. The February 6 accident affected the lanes of traffic on both sides of the freeway.
Reports say that a vehicle—described as a Jeep—appeared to have gone over the freeway’s barrier and collided head-on with another vehicle. The second vehicle was described as a sedan, which had been traveling in a lane heading south. The Jeep overturned and ended up on its side.
According to reports, another vehicle, which had been traveling on the freeway’s northbound side, seemed to have crashed also. The third vehicle was reported to be stopped in a direction that faced surface streets.
The collision led to the closure of all lanes of the freeway by the California Highway Patrol at roughly 5:30 a.m. in the area to the south of the 10 Freeway. The wreck caused traffic to back up for miles.
