Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Brundage Lane Claims 1 Life in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA (August 5, 2024) — A pedestrian accident early Monday morning on Brundage Lane and Quantico Avenue resulted in the death of a man, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. The incident occurred around 5:12 a.m.

For reasons still under investigation, a westbound driver in a white pickup truck struck the pedestrian outside a marked crosswalk. Officers arriving at the scene in the 4600 block of East Brundage Lane found the man suffering from severe injuries. Despite their efforts, he died minutes later at the scene.

Driver Who Struck The Pedestrian Stayed And Cooperated With Police

The driver remained at the location and fully cooperated with the authorities. Preliminary investigations indicated that neither unsafe speed nor impairment contributed to the accident.
