2 Hospitalized, Possible DUI 2-Car Crash in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, CA (June 9, 2024) — Two people sustained injuries in a suspected DUI-related two-car accident at the intersection of Panama Lane and Sparks Street on Sunday night. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m., according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
For reasons still under investigation, the two vehicles collided, resulting in one car catching fire. Bakersfield Police and paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after the crash and found both drivers with moderate injuries.
Alcohol Tests From Both Drivers Are Still Pending
Initial investigations suggest that alcohol may have played a role in the accident. However, officers were unable to accurately test both drivers for intoxication at the scene. Blood tests are currently pending, and authorities have yet to confirm whether DUI was a contributing factor.
