Two Injured, Including Juvenile, in Minor Collision at Southwest Area Intersection
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 21, 2025) — Two people, including a juvenile, sustained minor injuries following a traffic collision late Monday morning at the intersection of Allen Road and Palm Avenue in southwest Bakersfield, authorities said.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:26 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). A white Toyota sedan and a white SUV collided under unknown circumstances while traveling in the southbound lanes.
The Impact of the Crash Was Big Enough To Activate The Airbags
The force of the impact activated airbags in the vehicles and temporarily blocked traffic in the area. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, with firefighters treating a juvenile for a head injury and another individual for a knee injury. All individuals involved were moved to the sidewalk for further medical evaluation.
A tow truck was dispatched for the Toyota, which was disabled and unable to be moved from the roadway. Initially reported as a serious collision, the incident was later reclassified as involving only minor injuries.
The CHP is actively investigating the cause of the crash.
