BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 14, 2022) – On Tuesday in Bakersfield, two vehicles collided, killing a man. The July 12 crash occurred where McCray Street and West China Grade Loop are located.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle–described as a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck–was traveling on China Grade Loop and heading westbound.
The pickup truck, and a vehicle–described as a Volvo XC90–collided. The manner in which the crash happened has not been described.
The force of the crash threw the man who was driving the pickup truck from the vehicle. Responders pronounced him deceased at the crash site.
He was identified only as a resident of Bakersfield, 43 years old. His name has not been reported.
The person who was driving the Volvo suffered injuries that were described as major. Responders transported her to Kern Medical.
She was identified only as a resident of Bakersfield, 52 years old. Her name has also not been reported.
Investigators are continuing to examine crash details and information to understand why the collision happened.
