Suspect in Bakersfield Auto Theft Sought by Police
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 3, 2020) – A suspect who entered a man’s vehicle and drove it away in Bakersfield last week is being sought by police. The theft of the auto occurred on San Emidio Street in the 3100 block.
The time was roughly 6:45 p.m., according to Bakersfield Police.
Reports say the owner started the vehicle to have the interior cool down, and left the vehicle unattended for a short time while it was running. The person who is suspected of stealing the vehicle entered it, and drove away.
According to Bakersfield Police, the suspect in the auto theft is white or Hispanic. He is roughly 30 to 40 years of age, and roughly close to 6 feet tall. He has unkempt hair and a beard. At the time of the theft, the suspect was wearing a Nike sweatshirt, dark pants, and sneakers.
The vehicle that was stolen was later found. It is not known what condition the vehicle was in when it was recovered. The owner of the vehicle has not been identified in reports.
