Bakersfield School Bus with Student Aboard and Two Other Vehicles Collide
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 7, 2018) – A collision late Friday morning in Bakersfield involving a school bus and two SUVs caused injuries. The November 2 accident occurred where Belle Terrace and New Stine Road intersect.
The time was roughly 11:40 a.m.
According to reports, the bus—described as a Panama-Buena Vista Union School District bus—was carrying one student and an aide at the time of the crash. The California Highway Patrol said the bus and a vehicle described as an SUV, black in color, were traveling on a green light, and making a turn to the left. A person who had been driving another vehicle—described as an SUV, light in color—rad through the red light.
Neither the student, aide, nor driver of the bus suffered injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. Gerrie Kincaid, who is the District Assistant Superintendent, said the child who had been traveling on the bus was a pre-kindergarten student.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of one of the vehicles suffered injuries that were characterized as moderate. The driver of the other vehicle did not suffer injuries.
The identities of the people who suffered injuries have not yet been reported, nor the types of injuries they suffered. The identities of all the people in the accident have also not been reported.
