Hit-and-run Crash in Bakersfield Injures Three Pedestrians
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 18, 2018) – A hit-and-run crash on Friday in East Bakersfield injured three pedestrians. The accident occurred on E. Truxtun Avenue in the 1200 block.
The time was roughly 10:10 p.m., according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Officers found three people at the scene of the accident who had been walking on the road, outside of a crosswalk. A vehicle—described as a 2000 Nissan Frontier King Cab pickup, white in color—had struck the pedestrians. The pickup truck did not stay at the scene, but fled from the site.
Police said the truck was traveling west, when it was last seen, on Truxtun Avenue. The pickup truck sustained damage to the front and on the passenger side in the front.
Responders took two of the victims to the hospital. Their injuries were described as major. Their condition was critical, the Bakersfield Police Department said.
Responders treated a third victim for injuries, that were described as minor, at the accident scene.
