Crash on Highway 178 in Bakersfield Injures Motorcyclist
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 17, 2018) – A crash on Highway 178 in Bakersfield seriously injured a motorcyclist Thursday evening.
The collision occurred on Highway 178 in the eastbound lanes, close to Mount Vernon Avenue.
The time was roughly 8:49 p.m.
According to California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle and a vehicle were involved in the accident. Authorities who arrived on scene found the injured motorcyclist on the road in the lanes of traffic.
Responders took the victim to Kern Medical Center with injuries that were described as moderate. The identity of the injured rider has not yet been relesaed.
Other reports say that witnesses saw an SUV stopped near the accident scene. They said a man had been running in the area. Authorities tried to find that person.
Investigators are continuing their search into the details of the crash.
