Crash at Berkshire Road and Monitor Street in Bakersfield Critically Injures Teen Boy
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 27, 2020) – In the afternoon on Thursday in Bakersfield, a teen boy was seriously injured in a crash. The March 26 incident occurred where Monitor Street and Berkshire Road intersect.
The time was roughly 3:15 p.m., according to Bakersfield Police.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a pocket-bike style miniature motorcycle—and another vehicle—which has not been described—collided. The person riding the motorcycle was identified as a boy 17 years old. According to Bakersfield Police, the boy had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Responders transported the teenager to a hospital. He suffered injuries that were described as moderate to major. His current condition was described as critical.
The person who had been driving the vehicle involved in the crash stayed at the incident site and cooperated with investigators. The identity of the driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. It is not known if the driver was injured.
