Man Dies After Bakersfield Crash
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 26, 2019) – Cleighton Dean Shelhart died after a crash in Bakersfield on Sunday morning. The June 23 incident occurred where L Street and 23rd Street intersect.
The time was roughly 8:45 a.m.
Reports say Shelhart had been driving an SUV and collided with a pickup truck. Responders arrived and transported Shelhart to Kern Medical. Shelhart died in the hospital. He was 31 years old and a resident of Bakersfield.
The person who was driving the pickup truck was not hurt in the incident, according to reports. The identity of the driver, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. The pickup truck has not been described.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, neither speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. Shelhart may have had a medical incident before the collision, a report says.
