Vehicle Smashes into Power Pole, Knocking Lines onto Highway 41 near Atascadero
ATASCADERO, CA (January 25, 2019) – A vehicle smashed into a power pole on Highway 41 near Atascadero early in the morning on Thursday, leading to closure of the Highway. The January 24 accident occurred on the highway between Morro Bay and Atascadero.
The time was roughly 3:20 .m.
The California Highway Patrol said that a vehicle—described as a Mazda—left the road of the highway and smashed into a power pole close to Old Morro Road. The accident knocked the pole down, and lives wires fell onto the highway.
Officials closed a section of the highway at San Gabriel Road in Atascadero. Highway 41 was also closed in Morro Bay, where Highway 1 is located.
Reports say that no person was seriously injured in the accident, but details about who was traveling in the vehicle have not been reported. It is not known who the driver was, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence.
It is not known if the person was hurt in the crash, and what types of injuries, if any, the person suffered. It is also not known if anyone else had been traveling in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The type of vehicle that crashed has not been reported.
Investigators are examining the details and information to find out what led to, and caused the crash.
