ARTESIA, CA (July 10, 2018) – A rear-end collision in Artesia late Tuesday night killed one person.
The accident occurred on the 91 Freeway in the eastbound lanes, a little west of Pioneer Boulevard. The time was roughly 11:49 p.m.
At the time of the crash, a tow truck had been in the process of hooking up a disabled vehicle. Another vehicle hit the rear end of the vehicle being hooked up by the tow truck, California Highway Patrol says.
Responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on scene to provide help.
One person died in the collision. The report does not yet identify the victim.
According to preliminary reports, an arrest was not made.
Investigators are examining the details of the accident to find out why it occurred.
