Vehicle Fleeing Pursuit Collides with Motorcycle on Highway 1 in Arroyo Grande
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (January 31, 2020) – On Thursday, a vehicle that was fleeing pursuit by deputies collided with a motorcycle in Arroyo Grande. The January 30 incident occurred on Highway 1 and Willow Road.
The time was roughly 8:00 p.m., according to Cal Fire SLO.
Reports say the incident began when deputies from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a domestic violence incident. The suspect—who was described as male—fled when deputies arrived at the house.
Deputies attempted to stop the suspect when he was seen later that night driving in the vicinity of the victim’s house. The suspect did not stop, reports say, and deputies pursued him.
The suspect’s vehicle collided with a motorcycle. A short while later, the suspect’s vehicle crashed and overturned, and erupted in flames.
Responders arrived and transported to two people to a hospital in the area. The motorcyclist suffered injuries that were described as moderate to serious. The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
