Driver Trapped in Wreckage Following Multi-vehicle Collision in Arroyo Grande on Highway 101
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (December 5, 2019) – Early in the morning on Thursday, three vehicles collided in Arroyo Grande, trapping one of the drivers. The December 5 incident occurred on Highway 101 in the southbound lanes, close to the offramp for Halcyon Road.
The time was roughly 5:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say three vehicles collided, one of which was a semi-truck. The other two vehicles have not been described.
It is not known from reports how the vehicles collided, and where each was struck.
Responders with Five Cities Fire Authority worked to free a driver who was trapped in a wrecked vehicle. Responders transported the victim to a hospital.
The identity of the driver has not been reported, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. The types of injuries the person suffered, and the current condition, is not known.
The other two drivers have also not been identified. It is not known if any of the vehicles were carrying passengers when the crash occurred.
No details have been reported on whether anyone else was hurt in the incident.
