Arroyo Grande Crash on Highway 101 Kills Bicyclist
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (December 4, 2020) – Early in the afternoon on Thursday, a bicyclist died after a collision with a vehicle in Arroyo Grande on Highway 101. The December 3 incident occurred in the lanes that head south, near N. Halcyon Road, and to the south of it.
The time was roughly 2:22 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The person on the bicycle had been traveling across the highway’s south lanes and a vehicle, which has not been described, struck him. The impact threw the person from the bike.
The bicyclist died at the crash site. He was identified as a resident of Grover Beach, 39 years old. His name has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stopped and remained at the crash site. The driver–who has not been identified–cooperated with investigators.
Reports say the bicyclist had not been wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.
