One Man Killed, One Man Seriously Injured in Antelope Valley Crash
ANTELOPE VALLEY, CA (December 26, 2019) – On Monday night, a crash in Antelope Valley killed Jaime Hernandez and seriously injured Ricardo Barbosa. The driver fled the scene of the December 23 incident, leaving the two injured passengers.
The collision occurred on Longview Road, near Avenue S and to the south of it, approximately 5 miles to the north of Pearblossom.
The time was roughly 9:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a Toyota sedan—had been traveling southbound when the vehicle went out of the driver’s control, for reasons that are not known. The Toyota swerved to the left, and rolled over multiple times, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Toyota ended up in the lane that heads north. The person who had been driving the vehicle fled the incident site.
Responders arrived and found that Hernandez had died at the incident site. He was 28 years old, and a resident of Pacoima.
Barbosa, who was the other passenger, suffered injuries that were described as major. Responders transported him to Antelope Valley Hospital.
His current condition is not known. Barbosa is 21 years old, and a resident of Pacoima.
Investigators are searching for the driver, who has not been described. They are continuing to collect details and evidence.
