Bakersfield Woman Identified in Fatal Hit-and-Run
Bakersfield, CA (June 3, 2024) – Authorities have identified 49-year-old Anita Cecilia Hinojosa of Bakersfield as the victim of a fatal hit-and-run incident on South Union Avenue that occurred in late March.
The Bakersfield Police Department reported that the tragic incident took place on March 29 at approximately 2:32 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle struck Hinojosa near the intersection of South Union Avenue and Hosking Avenue.
Emergency responders arrived swiftly but pronounced Hinojosa dead at the scene.
Anita Hinjosa Died At The Scene After Driver Fled Without Offering Any Type of Help
Witnesses and police reports indicate that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately, failing to provide any aid to the victim.
An autopsy later confirmed that Hinojosa died from multiple blunt force injuries, with the manner of death ruled as an accident.
The Bakersfield Police Department continues to investigate the fatal hit-and-run and urges anyone with information to come forward.
