2 Killed and 3 Others Seriously Injured in Fiery Crash On 5 Freeway Near Magnolia
ANAHEIM, CA (April 19, 2025) — A tragic two-vehicle crash on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway near Magnolia Avenue claimed the lives of a toddler and an elderly man Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision occurred around 7:10 p.m., when the driver of a white Chevrolet SUV reportedly crashed into a dark-colored Ford SUV. The force of the impact caused the Chevrolet to overturn multiple times before coming to rest on an embankment off the side of the freeway.
After The Initial Crash The Ford SUV Was Left Facing The Wrong Direction
The Ford SUV, meanwhile, was left facing the wrong direction on the freeway’s shoulder. Both vehicles sustained major damage, and debris from the wreckage was strewn across several lanes, severely impacting traffic flow.
Emergency crews responded quickly and transported three individuals with serious injuries to a nearby trauma center. Despite life-saving efforts, a toddler and an elderly male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP Officials Are Currently Investigating The Crash
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
CHP officials are urging any witnesses to come forward as they work to piece together the events leading up to the fatal crash.
