Vehicle Smashes into Anaheim Chicken Restaurant on Lincoln Avenue, Injuring Four
ANAHEIM, CA (May 26, 2020) – On Friday afternoon, a vehicle smashed into an Anaheim restaurant, injuring four people. The May 22 incident occurred on Lincoln Avenue close to Empire Street, in a shopping center where the chicken restaurant is located.
The time was roughly 1:00 p.m., according to Shane Carringer. Carringer is a sergeant with Anaheim Police.
Reports say video recorded the incident, and shows a vehicle going slowly and pulling into a parking space, but then moving quickly instead of stopping.
A window at the restaurant broke from the crash, and the shattered glass injured four people who had been inside. The victims were identified only as two children and two women.
Their names and cities of residence have not been reported. According to reports, the injuries they suffered were minor.
According to Carringer, the person who had been driving the vehicle is not licensed. The driver mistook the accelerator pedal for the brake pedal when he drove into the parking spot. He cooperated with investigators.
The identity of the driver, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing to work on gathering information regarding the crash. The owner of the building has not been identified in reports.
