Hit-and-run Collision in Anaheim Knocks Ambulance Over on 91 Freeway, Causing Injuries

ANAHEIM, CA (November 11, 2019) – A hit-and-run collision early in the morning on Sunday in Anaheim knocked an ambulance over on the 91 Freeway. Several people were injured in the November 10 incident, which occurred close to Euclid Street in the freeway’s eastbound lanes.

The time was roughly 4:15 a.mm., according to Colleen Windsor. Windsor is a spokesperson with the Orange County Fire Authority.

Reports say a vehicle—described as a Chevrolet Trax, silver in color—smashed into the ambulance, causing the ambulance to fall on its side. The impact caused the Cherovlet to erupt in flames.

According to Windsor, the person who had been driving the Chevrolet fled the incident site on foot.

Responders arrived to help the people who were inside the ambulance, which is reported to be owned by Care. According to the California Highway Patrol, the victims suffered injuries that were described as minor. Responders took one victim to UCI Medical Center.

Windsor identified the victims as an attendant with Care ambulance, the person who was first being transported in the ambulance as a patient, and a paramedic with the Orange County Fire Authority. None of the victims have been identified by name, age, gender, or city of residence.

The person who had been driving the Chevrolet has also not been identified, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence.

Investigators are collecting details and evidence, and searching for the driver. If anyone has information about the incident, the person should call the Westminster office of the California Highway Patrol. The number is 714-892-4426.
