Collision on Kanan Road Near Agoura Hills Critically Injures Two People

AGOURA HILLS, CA (October 4, 2019) – On Thursday afternoon, a collision on Kanan Road near Agoura Hills critically injured two people. The October 3 incident occurred close to Triunfo Canyon Road, in an area of the Santa Monica Mountains.

The time was roughly 3:40 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol.

Reports say an employee of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works had been working picking up traffic cones. A sedan and the L.A. County employee were involved in a collision, but reports do not say if the county employee had been on foot or inside the work vehicle when the collision occurred.

It is not known what led to the collision, or where the impact happened.

Responders arrived and transported two people—identified only as the county employee and the driver of the sedan—to the hospital by airlift. The condition of the two men was described as critical.

The identities of the victims, including their names, ages, and cities of residence, have not been reported.

Investigators are working to understand what factors led to the crash, and the sequence of events that occurred. They are collecting details and information.
