21-year-old motorcyclist dies after Vegas Hummer crash

Yesterday afternoon, a 21-year-old man who was riding a motorcycle collided with a Hummer near the intersection of Evergreen Avenue and South Jones Boulevard. The crash, which occurred around 4:40 p.m. on October 19, 2011, seriously injured the motorcyclist. He was taken to University Medical Center Trauma where he was pronounced dead, the Las Vegas Sun reports.
According to the news story, the police stated the Hummer had been heading south on Jones Boulevard and was turning east onto Evergreen Avenue. The motorcycle had been heading north on Jones Boulevard and hit the passenger side of the Hummer in the intersection.
Police said the 67-year-old driver of the Hummer suffered minor injuries. Authorities are still investigating the accident.
