Garden Grove, CA – A female riding a motor scooter is killed after a crash with an SUV. The driver of the SUV is suspect for manslaughter, driving under the influence and fleeing the scene.

A 32-year old woman was riding her scooter east on Chapman Avenue when a SUV hit her near Pioneer Drive. The SUV had been traveling west on the same avenue at around 8:48 p.m. The driver, a 43-year old man fled the scene.
When police arrived to the scene the woman was crawling on the sidewalk and her scooter was totaled. She was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries but died before she could receive medical attention.
Investigators believe the SUV was attempting to turn left on Pioneer Drive when it hit the scooter.
The man who fled the scene was found moments after the accident. He was arrested and booked in county jail on suspicion of hit and run, DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
