Fatal Collision Involving Pedestrian at Carson and Palo Verde
LONG BEACH, CA (June 11, 2025) — A fatal two-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Carson Street Wednesday afternoon left one person dead and two others hospitalized, authorities said.
Emergency crews responded to the scene near the intersection of Carson Street and Palo Verde Avenue shortly after 3 p.m., where they found one of the vehicles overturned, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
LBFD Confirms A Pedestrian Was Struck and 2 Individuals Were Transported To a Nearby Hospital
The Long Beach Fire Department confirmed that a pedestrian was struck in the crash. Two individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital, while a third person at the scene declined medical attention.
It Remains Unclear Who Died In The Accident
It remains unclear whether the deceased individual was the pedestrian or a vehicle occupant. Authorities have not yet released the person’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
Details regarding the conditions of the hospitalized individuals were not immediately available.
Following the crash, Carson Street was shut down in both directions between Woodruff Avenue and Los Coyotes Diagonal as police conducted a thorough investigation.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
