Murrieta Fiery Crash On The 215 Freeway Kills 22 Year Old Man

Temecula Man Killed in Fiery I-215 Crash in Murrieta
MURRIETA, CA (June 5, 2025) — A 22-year-old Temecula man died early Thursday morning in a fiery, multi-vehicle crash on the southbound Interstate 215 near the Clinton Keith Road off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. on June 5. CHP investigators said the man was driving a white 2007 Chevrolet Malibu at high speed when he lost control and crashed into the center divider. The impact left the vehicle disabled in the roadway.
A Passenger In The Chevy Malibu Tried To Overt Others Away From The Crash
A passenger in the Malibu exited the vehicle and stood near the center divider while the driver called for assistance.
Moments later, a 61-year-old Moreno Valley man driving a Ford F-350 transit van struck the stalled Malibu from behind. The impact caused the van to spin into traffic lanes and the Malibu to catch fire.
Sadly The Driver of The Chevy Malibu Died At The Scene
Murrieta Fire and Rescue responded quickly and extinguished the flames, but the Malibu’s driver died at the scene. The passenger escaped injury, and the van’s driver was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with minor injuries.
Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the CHP Temecula Area office at (951) 466-4300. The investigation remains ongoing.
