El Cajon Male Pedestrian Struck and Killed On North 2nd Street

Fatal Pedestrian Crash Under Investigation in El Cajon

EL CAJON, CA (May 19, 2025) A man was killed early Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle on North Second Street, according to the El Cajon Police Department.

The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. on May 19 in the northbound lanes of North Second Street, between Flamingo and El Rey avenues. Responding officers and paramedics found the victim in the roadway with severe injuries. He was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

58 Year Old Driver Remained At The Scene and Cooperated With Police

Police say the 58-year-old driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The driver reported that the man was standing in the roadway at the time of the crash and was wearing dark clothing, making him difficult to see before sunrise.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
