Kearny Mesa Suspected DUI Crash Involving 3 Vehicles Blocks Highway 163

San Diego 3 Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Hwy 163 in Kearny Mesa Area

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 21, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision disrupted traffic Friday morning on southbound Highway 163 at the Balboa Avenue off-ramp in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego.

The crash, reported at 7:42 a.m. on March 21st, involved three vehicles—a blue Nissan Versa, a silver sedan, and a black Lexus—according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The vehicles were blocking the right lane of the highway following the collision.

CHP Is Investigating To See If Alcohol Was Involved In The Crash

Emergency responders transported at least one person to Sharp Memorial Medical Center, though their condition remains unknown. CHP officials also requested a blood technician to determine whether alcohol played a role in the crash.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident to determine fault.
